A farewell letter to mom

Dear Mom,


As I sit down to write this letter, tears fill my eyes and my heart aches knowing that you are slowly slipping away from me. But in this moment, I want to express to you the love and gratitude that I feel for you.


You have been the guiding light in my life, showing me the way forward and being my rock in moments of darkness. You have taught me so much, from the simplest things like tying my shoelaces to the biggest life lessons that have helped shape me into the person I am today.


Your love has been unconditional, and you have always put the needs of our family before your own. You have sacrificed so much for us, and I will always be grateful for your unwavering support and guidance.


As you prepare to embark on your final journey, I want you to know that I will always cherish the memories we have shared. From the family trips we took to Korea and Singapore, to the quiet moments we spent together, every moment spent with you is precious to me.


I will miss you terribly, but I know that you will always be with me in spirit. Your love and guidance will continue to guide me through life, and I will make you proud.


So, dear Mom, as you prepare to leave this world, please know that you are loved and cherished beyond measure. Your life has made a difference in so many lives, and I will always be grateful for the time we had together.


Rest in peace, Mom. I will always love you.

  認識 火葬  21世紀隨着人口結構，生活模式的轉變，殮葬模式的趨勢亦產生新 的變化。 傳統的歸土丶入土為安丶棺木安葬的習俗已經漸漸被火葬取代。 在北美火葬專業協會2022年 度 統計報告中顯示，加拿大2021 年的死亡數字為309,718 ，當中有74.8%選擇火葬。美國2021年的死亡數字為3,3 88,138。當中有57.5%選擇火葬。家庭選擇火葬的趨勢不 斷上升。 什麼是火葬？ 其實很多人對火葬的認識不多。火葬是, 整個殮葬過程中的其中一部份 。 火葬是, 將遺體準備安 葬 之前的一個程序；火葬是, 將遺體轉化的一個過程；藉着華氏1600至2000度的熱和高溫 在2至4小時之內轉化成為 骸骨 ，再處理成骨灰。 火葬場設計分為兩部份，以一列大玻璃窗分隔。前部份裝修簡潔雅致 ，與客廳一樣，主要供家人及親友前來送別時的聚集地方。後半部份 則像工業上的裝修，裏面會裝置火葬室（ Chamber ）是用來進行火化的火化爐，遺體存放室以及其他工作間。 每個地方的殮葬法例都有所不同。B C省法例規定，先人在離世48小時之後才可進行火化，特殊情況除 外。火化時，遺體必須以密封容器（火化用的箱子或棺木） 存放才可進行火化。如果先人生前有安裝心臟起搏器， 則必須先行移除。 火化後先人的骸骨會從火葬室移走，並放在容器內冷卻，然後再進一 步處理成為骨灰。 是否取回全部骨灰？ 是，一般骨灰的重量為四至八磅，視乎先人的骨密度而定。火化後的 骨灰會被放入厚身的塑料袋內，連同火化的號碼牌，用索帶綁好， 再放在紙盒 丶 臨時骨灰龕丶或家人預先選購的骨灰龕內，然後交回給 平安書執行人，或合法代表人處 置 或安葬。 是否火葬比土葬便宜？ 不一定！這完全視乎選擇什麼告別儀式。 一、傳統告別禮或安息禮, 後火化 Traditional Service～ 這個選擇跟傳統告別禮的安排一樣，一般前一晚有守夜，安息禮當 日有禮堂儀式，棺木 會 在安放在禮堂中間，給親友瞻仰遺容， 或作最後告別。安息禮後，靈柩會 被 送往火葬場進行火化。 家屬可選擇一同前往送別，見證火葬儀式。 二丶先火葬，然後追思會或追悼會 Memorial Service～ 追思會一般在火葬後才進行。禮堂內會擺放先人的照片、骨灰龕、 以及一些悼念先人的紀念品、照片或擺設……等等表達對先人的悼念 。 三、沒有任何禮堂儀式，直...
