What is Chung Yeung Festival?

According to the Chinese Lunar calendar, Chung Yeung day falls on the 9th day of the 9th month. It is also known as Double-Ninth. This is a Memorial Day for families to remember their loved ones, similar to Ching Ming day in the spring.

Chung Yeung has become an over 2000-year's Chinese Tradition that families go to visit their ancestors' grave sites and place their respect. In many Asian countries, this is a public holiday that families would gather together, go hiking to the city's high points and fly kites as well.

Other than China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Chung Yeung Festival is also know as Chrysanthemum Festival in Japan, and Jungyanjeol in Korea.
