What is Ching Ming Festival?

Ching Ming Festival, also known as Tomb-sweeping Day or Ancestors’ Day.  It’s the 15th day from the Spring Equinox, usually fall on April 4,5 or 6th. It is one of the 24 segments in the Chinese Calendar. With over 2500 year of history, Ching Ming Festival is the top day of families to remember and honor their loved one, normally on or before the actual day.

According to religious and origins, families show their respect in various ways. On Ching Ming, the whole family comes to the grave site, sweep the tomb stones and monuments, offer food, tea, wine to their loved one, burn the incense and joss paper; some families bring in flowers as a gesture of respect.
